There is a disturbing trend of increased violence in
Michigan Public Schools.
Michigan's school violence prevention reporting system, OK2SAY, has reported a 19% increase from the year before. The categories with the most tips are bullying, suicide threats, and drugs. We believe that these numbers may be much lower than reality. We will explore the increase in violence in Michigan public schools, focusing on fights, gangs, assaults, and rape. And we will explore ways to transform schools that have become unsafe.
